Who We Are
Health Action Charity Organisation (HACO) was established as a charitable organisation in the Kent area of the United Kingdom in 2003.
This charity organisation works to raise awareness of HIV/Aids and other Health related illnesses thus providing support to members of African communities within the Kent/Medway area. We work closely with the Medway Public Health Team, and our work here is highly valued.
HACO works to improve access to various support mechanisms, health and sexual health education and services. We are the first Organisation in Medway to set up a support mechanism for African men who are in abusive relationships.
Our achievements so far over the past 17 years:
1. We won the Kent Community Champion Award in 2005
2. We also won the Queen’s Award for Voluntary service MBE in 2011
3. Pride in Medway Award 2013: We won the Medway Council Special Award for improving access to HIV services in Medway
